Have you been thinking that it's time to throw away those old playstation 1 games? This may not be a good idea, as there is much hidden value in some of those classic titles.

A lot of folks have a large library of games that are just gathering dust. This is too bad, because many of those discs were expensive to buy and great fun to play. They really shouldn't just be ignored.

An idea to consider is to sell the discs you never play any more. There are many places that you can put them up for sale, such as Ebay and stores that deal in used and classic video games. This can put a tidy sum of money in your pocket if done properly.

Just to take one instance, I sold a title I hadn't played in years for about fifty bucks. It was one of the rarer playstation 1 games, which meant I was able to ask a higher price, but it can be startling to learn how much cash some of these things can fetch.

Do you have nephews or nieces who like video games? Maybe you could make them a present of your old titles. This is a great way to help them start a collection of their very own.

A lot of parents with younger kids don't want to spend a bunch of money on a high end console, so they would be very willing to take those old playstation 1 games off of your hands. You can help them out and make a little money for yourself too.

Maybe you can't bear the thought of giving up any of those favorites that you played for hours. Instead of letting them gather dust, try playing them all over again. Games like the original Resident Evil are still fun even now.

Time never diminishes the fun factor of a great game. It can be a pleasant experience to replay an old favorite. You can sometimes find whole new levels that you overlooked during your original play through.

The worst thing you could do with your playstation 1 games is to neglect them. At the very least, keep them in a dry, secure area. As time goes by, many may become collector's items, so treat them accordingly.
